Sofia Vergara’s upcoming Netflix limited series Griselda now has a full trailer for fans to enjoy ahead of the show’s premiere in January. In the new show, Vergara transforms herself to play notorious Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco.
Sofia Vergara’s Series Griselda Gets a Full Trailer
Before now, we’ve gotten only a brief glimpse of Vergara in the role of Blanco. However, it’s been obvious that Vergara truly transformed herself for this role — not only physically, but as a departure from her more comedic characters.
The new trailer gives fans much more to chew on, as we see Blanco running her cocaine empire in Miami during the 1970s and ’80s. At one point, she says, “I swear. I know what I’m doing.” We see her involved in some pretty violent scenes, including beating a man with a baseball bat.
The trailer describes Blanco as a “queenpin,” “innovator,” “mother,” and “killer.” At the end of the video, a character says that Blanco “didn’t walk like a woman who’s a girlfriend.” Instead, she walked “like a boss.”

What Do Fans Think of the New Trailer?
Fans expressed their excitement for the new show in the comments of the trailer. Many of them expressed their prediction that Vergara will deliver a great performance in the series, with one writing, “This is the perfect role for Sofia, so can’t wait to watch it.”
“Damn, I was a bit skeptical at first whether Sofia can pull off a serious character in a drama series like Griselda but then, this trailer just proved me wrong,” wrote another commenter. “Not only is she gonna nail this character but I think she’s gonna win some big awards for it. You go girl.”
