Boko Haram insurgents have killed Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abu Ali, who recaptured the Baga town of Borno state from the Islamist sect in 2015. This was revealed on Saturday, November 5 by Sani Usman, army spokesman, who said Ali was killed in an encounter with the insurgents late on Friday, November 4. Ali led one of the army’s fiercest-ever battles with Boko Haram in February 2015 that led to recapturing of Baga.

The Court of Appeal in Abuja, on Friday, rejected the request to compel the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) to disclose the assets declared by former presidents, vice presidents, and principal officers of the National Assembly. Naija News understands that the Public & Private Development Centre (PPDC) and the Incorporated Trustees of the African Centre for Media & Information Literacy,  had sought to overturn a high court judgment that denied them access to the asset declaration forms submitted to the CCB by past political leaders.
