Everton Football Club on Sunday announced the departure of Rafael Benitez as First Team manager. Benitez, who joined Everton in June 2021, left the Club with immediate effect. Everton in a statement on its website stated that update on a permanent replacement will be made in due course. The former Liverpool manager oversaw his last game in charge on Saturday, a 2-1 loss to Norwich. Struggling Everton have won just once in the Premier League since September and are 15th in the table, six points above the relegation zone.
