TikTok star Benson Boone just shared major news. He signed a record deal with Warner Records and Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons. He also signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and Saints Sounds Publishing. The news comes after Benson dropped out of Season 19 of American Idol this year.

Benson was labeled a frontrunner in the competition during his audition. The judges loved his rendition of “Punchline” by Aidan Martin. Benson famously did a backflip after making it through to the next round on American Idol. Katy Perry even predicted that Benson would win the season.

Viewers were confused after Benson was missing from Hollywood Week. After his audition, he was not seen on American Idol anymore. He did post TikTok videos with Reynolds as speculation continued to rise. Many suspected that Benson did make it to the Top 24 before dropping out. Anilee List reportedly replaced him in the competition.

Benson Boone Announces New Record Deal

Benson confirmed in April that he had stepped down from his spot on American Idol. This left the door wide open for Chayce Beckham to win the show. Benson now has 1.7 million TikTok followers, making him one of the biggest TikTok stars to ever audition for the show. It all obviously makes sense now why he left the competition. His TikTok videos with Reynolds were only just a teaser for this great opportunity.

“This is just the beginning of my career, and with my first song coming out next week you’re going to be able to understand my music and I couldn’t be happier,” Benson wrote on Instagram. “I love all of you so much and I’m so grateful to be able be doing what I love.”

On top of this exciting announcement, his new song “Ghost Town” is coming out on Oct. 15. Benson has been sharing snippets of the song on TikTok. It sounds like it is going to be a hit with his fans. They are already begging for him in the comments section to release the full song early. He told his fans on TikTok that he will release the song early if it gets 100,000 pre-saves.
