In a separate story, emotions ran high on Saturday, March 20, in Dar es Salaam as thousands of Tanzanians viewed the body of the late president.

Magufuli's body was first taken to St Peter Catholic Church, Oyesterbay, for a requiem mass in the morning, and many of his fellow citizens could be seen weeping as they mourned his departure from the world.

The body was later transported to Uhuru Stadium.

Janeth Magufuli, the widow of the late president, was overwhelmed by emotions during the body viewing process and was escorted by her aides, who comforted her.

In attendance was President Samia Suluhu, who took the oath of office on Friday, March 19, amid outpouring grief.
