But of late, personnel in the police service have been bending over backwards trying to prove that a number of them are actually the opposite of how people define them.

They clean streets, support the elderly, take kids to school and preach peace in a bid to foster cohesion between them and members of their communities.

Officers from Kiambaa collaborated with residents to purchase and collect foodstuff and clothes on Tuesday, March 9.

They then gave away all the items to Caroline Wambui and Mogra Children’s homes.

Polisi ni Rafiki Chief Administrator Genesis Ngari told TUKO.co.ke said the group of philanthropic men and women in uniform focus on creating awareness about togetherness and unity.

They operate under the Ruaka Security Updates group.

The group was created in 2016 and helps support needy people within their surroundings.

"The group which started in 2016 has been involved in different community projects such as supporting the needy people, response to help COVID-19 victims as well as helping the children centres in Kiambaa and its environs,” Genesis said.
